Kona Everyday PU Series Surfboard
The idea of a mid-length is to make so many of your different needs in a surf that much easier. It has more length, volume, and way more paddle power while allowing for an alternative way of carving and cruising.
The rise of popularity in mid-lengths vindicates the need for this style of board across all segments of the surfer population. It would be remiss not to have one of these in your quiver for those days that shout out for a fun board.
It is the most versatile board in our midlength lineup, designed to be surfed every day in all conditions, as the name suggests. Available in a wide range of lengths, this funboard has a big sweet spot that is easy to find, so the rider can shift their weight quickly and still achieve decent speed and transitions.
Remember that the sweet spot will be found further back than usual, with the idea of pivoting off the tail for direction changes instead of centring your weight over the board, as that tends to make a fun board slightly less wieldy.
Outline:This hybrid funboard shape with a lot of volume provides glide and easy paddling. A full nose and wider body carried through to the tail allow the rider to feel super comfortable and confident with this board underfoot. The mid-rocker and extra kick on the squash tail will help get additional speed.
Rocker:The mid-rocker will help build speed down the line as it is easier to paddle than your average funboard and will help prevent those dreaded nose-dives on longer boards.
Bottom Contours:A slight single concave helps build speed down the line. while the double concave in the back half of the board gently morphs into a vee in the tail for a nice balance of speed and hold.
Tail:The squash tail is popular for good reasons. as it is versatile and provides a comfortable. well-balanced feel for transitions across any board shape. Particularly relevant in a fun board. when a surfer's back foot is placed firmly over the tail area. it allows for solid. power-based turns without any trace of tracking or drifting.
