The Hippo is solid and sturdy - constructed for maximum flotation and extra durability for the bigger surfer. With the ultimate goal in every session being to catch enough waves to be satisfied, the Hippo is the craft that will get you that wave count you need. If you're not catching waves, you're not surfing. The rounded and full hybrid nose, paired with the additional width in the front of the board, make this a very stable board that won't give any unpredictable wobbles or slides, even when the waves get a bit onshore and choppy, with the extra width and volume compensating for scrappy conditions. The slightly pulled-in tail design helps with transitions and maintains a springy down-the-line speed. Everyone needs a Hippo in their life.

Outline:The rounded nose has some extra width that improves stability and increases the area of the sweet spot so you can shift your weight around. The outline keeps that width throughout the board. but the volume is built into the deck to place all the sensitivity on the rails. This rail sharpness is necessary when you have a somewhat larger board underfoot. The diamond tail softens your turns without sacrificing speed. which is what everyone looks for. the holy grail of tail design.

Rocker:All the extra width and volume combine with a mid-rocker to provide the best paddling board ever. Enough lift in the nose is going to prevent any nose-diving situations particularly on late drops. and adds to the confidence this board instils. The kick in the tail allows The Hippo to pivot off the diamond design for multiple direction turns and trajectories.

Bottom Contours:A single concave to double concave keeps the board fast with plenty of squirt. The vee through the tail helps to keep the board loose and manoeuvrable.

Tail:The diamond tail gives the rider controlled turns without any dropping speed and allows for those hard jams off the bottom when necessary without the risk of spinning out.
