Kona Oyster Catcher EPS Carbon Ser Surfboard
The best thing about a groveller is that they are made to be surfed when the waves are terrible. In fact, the main goal of this board is to transform a surf session with terrible waves into a lot of fun.
The best way to have fun when the waves are bad is to go out and ride a lot of waves in a short amount of time and have so much fun doing it.
This groveller, this little gem, is the board that will see you catch so many waves despite the conditions. A few unique little design elements help make this board a wave-catching machine, especially in waves under 6 feet.
A rounded nose is not a secret when it comes to catching waves. Still, it is unique on a smaller board aimed at grovelling. Its superior paddling scoop allows the surfer to get up to top speed quickly after take-off.
The mid-entry rocker has enough lift in the nose along with the kick in the tail for those super-late take-offs that will make you so proud to stick. The 60/40 rails lend a bit of looseness to the wider and rounder Oyster Catcher shape, but with enough bite in cleaner, steeper waves to carve with confidence.
With a single concave leading to a double concave, the bottom contour gives you plenty of lift, and with the five-fin option there are enough configurations to make the board hum in any conditions.
Outline:The round nose and tail and a bump leading to a minor tuck in the tail allow for optimum control.
Rocker:The mid-rocker provides that extra paddle ability and a smooth ride with enough kick in the nose for you to attempt those daunting late take-offs with total confidence.
Bottom Contours:Single concave leading to double concave in the tail.
Tail:A slight bump in the tail combined with the rounded pin design adds to the extra bite that is crucial when the waves start getting steep and you need that extra hold.
