Moving forward from our popular Zen model, we introduce the Zen XL. It is just that - an XL version of the Zen and is therefore geared towards the larger surfer. These boards are all north of 6' in length and have corresponding volume to ensure no disadvantages to that larger surfer who still wants to rip.

The XL has the addition of channels, which are much-loved by serious fish surfers in their yearning for yesteryear. It is also a double-winger with those wings, adding more performance, turning ability off the tail, and unlimited speed capability. Tailored for optimal fun in the water for the bigger surfer, the Zen XL is a whippy and functional fish that will be a joy to ride.

Outline:The Zen XL has all the characteristics of a classic fish design. including a rounded nose and a wide point way forward on the board. With an extra length (in the 'XL'). there will automatically be all that extra volume. These two elements result in easier paddling. more glide and more waves under the belt after each fish session. This is even more impressive when a bigger surfer tries to surf on smaller days. the result which is usually quite disappointing. You won't be disappointed with the Zen XL. however. The superior paddling ability and control will make for a satisfying experience regardless of the size - yours or the waves.

Rocker:As per most old-school fish shapes. the Zen XL has a pronounced flat area in the middle of the board. making the boards fast and popular. The nose has enough lift to prevent nose-diving on late drops. so you can take off on those steep ones with aplomb.

Bottom Contours:The bottom curve features a single-to-double concave and channels. resulting in water flow and down-the-line speed. A slight vee in the swallow enhances short-radius surfing.

Tail:The slight swallow tail is less pronounced than the Zen (sub 6'0 in length) and allows you to pivot off the bottom. The double wings add quick-turn capabilities as well as drive off the bottom. The Zen XL tail has slightly tucked-in rails. enhancing overall performance. When you put the technical tail design along with extra volume and width up front. the bigger surfer is very well looked after with the Zen XL.
