Description
A design collaboration between the legendary, 4x World Champion surfer/shaper, Mark Richards and Lost Surfboards, Matt Mayhem Biolos. The CaliforniaTwin, with its winged swallow tail, wide forward outline, low entry rocker and deep single to double concave bottom, quickly became a favorite for a wide array of skill level surfers. From up n coming Pros, to aging Bros, its been a resounding success, around the world. As time goes on, multiple requests for customizing the design for greater performance and confidence in a wider range of waves, started coming from passionate CaTwin converts.
Outline:Based off the California Twin, but sleeker and more performance focused. The nose/forward third is pulled in slightly, the board is lengthened about 1 inch, and the hips between the feet are pulled in. It keeps a continuous curve, making it smoother rail to rail and better in better waves.
Rocker:Still keeps the California Twins easy speed, but has slightly more nose rocker than the original. That helps it handle steeper drops, punchier surf, and bigger waves with more confidence.
Bottom Contours:Deep single to double concave. This was not changed from the California Twin. The single gives speed and lift under the front foot, while the double helps the board roll rail to rail and feel fast out of turns.
Tail:Rounded pin tail. This replaces the winged swallow tail from the California Twin. The rounded pin gives more hold, control, and confidence in stronger or more powerful waves while still keeping it forgiving.
